ABOUT THE ART:
The beach empties in the late afternoon. Clouds gather over the ocean — some catching the last warmth of the sun, others deepening into blue-gray — while the wet sand below holds their reflection in a pale, shifting mirror.
This is the moment just before evening arrives. The light hasn't left yet, but it's loosening its hold. The water moves gently at the shoreline, and everything feels suspended — neither day nor night, neither still nor restless.
Hung in a quiet room, this painting tends to slow things down. The eye moves between sky and sand, between the glow above and its echo below, and somewhere in that movement, the day softens.
Painted in oil on canvas with smooth, layered transitions that let the light breathe across the surface.
I'm drawn to the spaces where time seems to pause — coastlines at dusk, skies mid-change. This painting is one of those spaces.
