Reflections at the Arboretum
This original one-of-a-kind oil painting is on MDF board that measures 16” wide by 16” high. It takes 2-3 layers of oil paint to build up the amount of detail I like to have in my paintings. The painting is signed by me (Dennis) and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
Shipping is free from within the continental U.S. within 5-7 business days from my studio in Alexandria VA.
What it’s about
For a good portion of my life, I lived in Jamaica Plain one of the neighborhoods in Boston. In my 30s I went to the School of The Museum of Fine Arts to study painting. I lived within walking distance to the Boston Arboretum where the painting is based on. My friend Gerry Vann took the photo for this painting.
My favorite part of the painting was having the sky at the bottom of the painting and not where you expect to see most skies in a landscape painting.
I wanted to capture was the light in the upper right-hand corner coming through the fuller darker area of bushes in front of the path.
